Hopkins County Jail Visitation Rules and Expectations:

  1. Visits must be scheduled in advance. Visits for weekdays must be scheduled before 3:30 PM the previous day. Visits for the weekend must be schedule before 3:30 PM Friday afternoon. (Holidays may change this schedule. Contact administration for days and times for scheduling on or around upcoming holidays.)
  2. All visitors must be on the visitation appointment. If a person is not on the appointment, they will not be able to go into visitation.
  3. Visitors must sign in 15 minutes prior to their scheduled visits. If you schedule a visit but come late, you will be allowed to visit but will only get the remaining time if the offender is still in visitation. If they have gone back, they will not be pulled for visitation again.
  4. You must be 18 years or older to visit unless you are accompanied by an adult who has scheduled a visit. Children under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult at ALL times in the facility. Visitors are responsible for the supervision and care of their minor visitors.
  5. Number of Visitors: 4 people (including children) are permitted during one visitation session. Not all people may go back at the same time. 2-3 may go back and then switch out. If there are 3 children, you may bring an extra adult to sit in the waiting area with the children not in visitation. This person is not considered a visitor and may NOT enter the visitation area.
  6. All visitors must present a valid photo ID to staff upon registry. A visitor who cannot produce acceptable identification will NOT be permitted to visit.
  7. The visitation dress code must be followed.
  8. Electronics: Any kind of device, whether worn or hand held, that has the capability of audio and/or video/photography recording and/or cell phone capabilities is NOT permitted while visiting an offender in the visitation area but are permitted in the lobby area. This can include, but is not limited to: cell phones, blue tooth devices, tablets, etc.
  9. Visitors may only see one offender at a time. Visitors may only visit the offender they have signed up to visit.
  10. A visitor may be asked to leave if they or the offender behave in an inappropriate or threatening manner (this includes, but is not limited to: sexually suggestive behavior, yelling, use of profanity, etc.). This kind of behavior can result in being banned from visiting the facility.
  11. Who CANNOT visit: any victim of the offender, any visitor who has had his/her visiting privileges suspended, and/or anyone as ordered by the court.
  12. Anyone appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance will not be permitted into the jail.
  13. Persons caught introducing contraband into the facility will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and will be permanently banned from visiting.
  14. No mail or messages for offenders will be accepted. Mail must go through the U.S. Mail. Violations of the above rules and expectations may cause the visit to be cancelled or terminated, and visiting privileges may be suspended by the Hopkins County Jail. The on-duty supervisor may cancel visits without notice due to circumstances within the jail.

Hopkins County Jail Visitation Dress Code:

  1. All visitors shall be expected to dress in appropriate attire while at the Jail. If, in the opinion of the admitting officer, the visitor is not properly clothed in accordance with this dress code, the visit shall be denied. Additionally, proper dress shall be maintained throughout the visit.
  2. Any modest attire including blue jeans, pantsuit, blouse and shirt is considered appropriate. Shorts, dresses, and skirts must be of appropriate length. Tank tops that cover undergarments are permitted with the exception of spaghetti straps. Cutoffs, muscle shirts, or see through clothing of any type shall NOT be permitted.
  3. No undergarments may be exposed at any time during the visit.
  4. Clothing which does not completely cover the midriff, cleavage, or breasts shall not be acceptable.
  5. Foot wear shall be required at all times.
 

Hopkins County Jail Offender Property Drop-Off:

  1. Glasses and Contact Lenses are the only property that are able to be dropped off for offenders. These may only be taken Monday-Friday during business hours. These can also be mailed in to the jail with the offender's name and the jail's address.
  2. Glasses must be prescription glasses. They may not have broken lenses or other broken pieces when they are brought to the jail.
  3. If the offender already has a pair of glasses, jail staff may not accept another pair of glasses for the offender.
  4. Contact lenses must come in the original box and be unopened. (Contact solution may be purchased from commissary but may not be brought in.)
